JLT has launched an Intel Atom-powered rugged vehicle mount, the JLT 1214.

The tool plugs into the forklift power supply and is ready to go.

Incorporating built in WLAN, dual-diversity wi-fi antennas, Bluetooth connectivity, uninterruptible power supply and power stabilisation, the tool needs no further peripherals to run.

The JLT 1214 is built to take on the most extreme of working conditions, from cold stores to high temperatures.

In addition, the tool can withstand power outages of up to 10 minutes and can be readily swapped from five forklift to another as it can handle voltages from 9 to 72V DC.

It has an IP65 water-tight rating and resilience to shock and vibration.

Stanley Handling has supplied a Powermate stairclimber to Tyco Fire & Integrated Solutions for use at its communications equipment site in Cambridgeshire, UK.

Part of Tyco International, the company plans, installs & services fire detection, protection & suppression systems, access control, CCTV & other integrated solutions to a range of industry sectors across Europe, Asia & Africa.

Much of the site's output is made up of electronics & communications equipment in racks.

Because of the height of plenty of of the racks, access through doorways on site is often problematic.

Acquired to resolve this issue by enabling the units to be tilted, the Powermate M2B is now used for movements around the plant & has contributed to safer working practices & created some efficiencies in manufacturing processes.
